Twilight’s at her best when she’s stupid-smart, like she’s so smart she makes incredibly stupid decisions because she overthinks so hard that she fails to grasp basic logic :P
@Beta Upgrade
You may be thinking of a different episode. This is from “Marge on the Lam” and Homer wants a Crystal Buzz Cola but has no change. He even turns his pockets inside out showing they’re empty, then he says “Time to stick it to the man” as he reaches inside the machine.
Yes, I watched that episode just now to confirm. Also it’s one of the best Simpsons episodes ever.
Twilight: Yeah. Why do you ask?
Trenderheart: Just let go of the snacks.
Twilight: But I already paid for them. They’re mine by right!
Trenderheart: We can simply open the machines and give you the snacks you paid for.
Twilight: … Oh…. That’s much simpler than what I was trying to do. *lets go and pulls her hooves out of the machine*
Redheart, thinking to herself: (Damn, I was really hoping to give an amputation today.)
@Softy
actualy he wasnt trying to steal, he had put the money in and his purchace had goten stuck after rateling the machine didnt work he tried reaching inside to get it out, preventing that sorta shit is why modern vending machines have safety flaps (well that and preventing theft)
@Beta Upgrade
Because the full scene implies (nearly) everyone else is just as stupid as Homer.
In the Simpsons, you can see a skeleton arm holding a can stuck inside the same vending machine Homer reaches into. The obvious implication being: Someone got their arm stuck inside THE SAME VENDING MACHINE and their arm was amputated rather than just cutting the machine open or letting go of the can.
For kids/the inattentive, you laugh at Homer. For adults/the attentive, you laugh at those laughing at Homer cause this isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last time.
the simpsons joke was funny when i was a kid and didnt know any better, in a grim way
but now im like…wait why would they amputate his arm rather then just cuting the machine open…
Again, it’s all about the principle. She paid for the snack and beverage, she has the right to get those things! If she lets go or uses magic the machines win. She will not be beaten by these stupid machines!
I just saw that! Neat to know its inspiration.
I have to admit that it’s clever, and I say that as someone who loves Twilight and dislikes Trixie for it.

your current filter.Also, that Twilight face is super cute :P
To be fair, the first ten seasons of The Simpsons are way better than the last twenty.

this exactly

I was feeling this pic seems similar. Of course it’s a Simpsons reference. :P
Also Burns is enough greedy to cut off an employee instead the machine

In the Simpsons episode this is referencing, Homer was trying to steal from the vending machines, so presumably Twilight was too.

PONY HOOVES, HOW DO THEY WORK!?
