So maybe it’s not emotion as we know it but something similar to it. :)
BTW I don’t mind if she either has feelings or is a soulless automaton.
Technological development is a thing, don’tcha know? (especially in a setting where the degree it’s shown standing at is lacking consistency as much as MLP:FiM’s)

Also, why do you have to act like your some kind of philosopher? You definitely are not, else you wouldn’t be arguing with an Internet user on a brony website.
Rather categorical of you to think that robots could exist to begin with in a world that doesn’t have technology more advanced than a basic steam locomotive or deejay set. Until the existence of G5, we haven’t seen any ponies use smartphones and TVs certainly didn’t exist, and there was no robots of any kind in G4. So how could Sweetie Bot exist in FiM to begin with? I haven’t seen her once in the actual show, and that is what I consider to be ‘canon’ as I don’t follow the comics.
Rather categorical of you to assume that an empathetic capacity and emotional responses couldn’t be emulated through artificial means (especially, as previously mentioned, in a fictional setting where magic is a thing and sentient, fully emotive equinoids could very well be brought into existence).

I never said that they didn’t have anhy sort of intelligence, as I fully believe machines will be far more intelligent than we humans will ever be, simply due to their ability to connect to the World Wide Web. My claim, however, was that they couldn’t exhibit emotions, as that is a biological trait.
Their synthetic nature doesn’t preclude the possibility of an intelligence, even if it may have been programmed rather than evolved (obviously not at our current technological level, but we’re talking about a fictional setting here, not real life).
Robots aren’t a race. You are acting like they are biological or something.
