And there’s going to be a Tree of Harmony with Capper and Co. becoming the Abyssinian branch of the Elements of Harmony.
Then it’s settled; we have are very first Abyssinian villain.
Well dang. Their son’s a dick.
I think I’m starting to understand.
This young tyrant has taken over the throne from his parents who are the royal couple we have seen, and it seemed to have happened quite recently. According to Capper “magic has taken this kingdom from your parents”, so we do not know exactly all the details, but we know that the royal couple had been to an international conference up to a couple of years before, and that they had set up an embassy in Canterlot which obviously did not had informed Twilight about the regime change. In any case, it reminds us that the prince or his son may have taken the throne and made lies about his parents in order to have power - and thus introduced tyranny in Abyssinia.
It seems that the story of Abyssinia will either see Capper take over, or that the royal couple will return and put their son in prison. We have apparently found the villain in Abyssinia who will be stopped by magic as seen in the Farasi coast where the monster Grootslang had terrorized the surroundings around the temple.
So, I guess that’s how this situation is gonna get resolved.

So… do we get any explanation for why the original king and queen of Abyssinia are no longer running the place, considering that they were alive and well in the earlier comic arc “The Convocation of Creatures”?Edit: okay, so I guess I should have checked out >>2593177 first, as it states that they’re his parents, so I guess they retired?

@Phoenixflambe
Only more fuel for my headcanons - that this guy is a Mahdi-like millenarian prophet who garnered himself a following under the Storm King’s rule, and after the collapse of his empire, took advantage of the ensuing confusion to proclaim himself king.

Huh, in that case. That sounds like a really juicy plot waiting to happen.
This seems like foreshadowing for the whole “no magic allowed” thing in the future timeline of G5.
But he WAS a magical creature. It’s really just another Neighsay here.
