From best to worst in terms of design. (Note: this is purely my opinion):  
#1) Pipp (good)  
#2) Izzy (pretty good)  
#3) Hitch (mediocre)  
#4) Sunny (subpar)  
#5) Zipp (terrible)
 
I wonder if this is the complete cast of protagonists for G5…

No. Pipp Petals and Zipp Storm are the only two ponies out of the five main characters who are part of royalty. The other three are regular, who are not part of royalty.

I want to believe Zipp will be tomboyish but of the “Protective/guard” type. As in maybe soldier like/devoted to the kingdom while her sister will be the aloof one.

These ponies are new Main Five characters for this generation… If they unveil at least one more that’s also a main character, then we will finally have the new Mane Six. But right now, this looks absolutely brilliant. So far, we are starting to know more about Pipp and Zipp, much like with Sunny, Hitch and Izzy from the beginning.
