Oh, now I understand.
And we haven't gotten a proper explanation about it yet?
@Jacalope
And sadly, we know MLP has a problem with internal logic. :(
Edited
I like it, I only forgave him once I saw this. He deserves that.
Well im sorry if i came off as offensive i was just saying the full pic would probably decided the end result on how to feel about it, I think 96 comes out April 14
It's not about lore, it's about common sense like a writer. I know MLP is more about characters than from lore, but there are details you need to take care to make real the scenario, because if there isn't internal logic, then, the story can't be taken seriously.
Honestly im happy to see trixie cares about discord because honestly until now ir felt one sided, so on the one hand i can discuss all day how i feel about the lore of this on the other ill probably focus on the character moments surrounding this and see where it goes
when i say undirectional, i mean the collar shouldn't be melted with Trixie's magic because is an object that blocks magic, so, if blocks magic, that mean it only can be destroyed or be open in normal ways, not with magic.
And if it's like "okay, blocks the user's magic but that same object can be affected with other character magic" then, it's useless for a culture that dislikes magic a lot because magicians can destroy the object easily.
What do you mean by unidirectional?
I know! It feels like there needs to be proper buildup for him being taken down a peg.
I wouldn't wanna see discord being defeated by someone weaker than him because I have love for his character for being objectively one of the most developed in the series power included, i would only think its epic if discord got defeated because someone much more powerful came along
Edited
And specially, if the Abyssians hates so much the magic, why the magic restraing stuff is unidirectional instead of "oh, you can't escape from that collar, not even melt it"?
It's not even fanservice for Discord haters… a good thing that would be EPIC and makes everbody, fan or not of Discord, is just put someone defeating a powered Discord like Batman vs Superman in Dark Knight Returns.
YES. While I figured that magic restraint stuff would only exist in fandom comics due to a lot of fans' kinky desires, if they were to exist in canon, I figured the most powerful magic users in FiM's world would just snap through these restraints like twigs. Then again, there was the material used to make Chrysalis's throne in Season 6, which was VERY powerful in terms of magical restraints.
Even though I hate Discord (his character) with a passion and seeing his situation get more and more inconvenient should be hilarious to me, even I have to question the logic of how these magical restraints came to be and how the Abyssinians got their hands on them.
@AC97
I have a feeling if we asked those questions to the writers on their Twitters, even they wouldn't have a satisfying answer.
Oh yeh tru
I think with all the 3 options, he have those needs if he loses his powers.
Option 3 would also suggest without his powers he has the need to use the bathroom eat sleep and drink water
The most possible one but option 3 is very interesting.
Im going with 1. Because discord has never breathed fire and has animal parts that have nothing to do with dragons
hmm, If's not a simple inconsistency of the writer because it's from a cartoon, it can give a curious contribution on how the biology of draconequus works.
Giving us 3 possible conclusions.
1- The draconequus even without their powers are very resistent.
2- The draconequus shares a lot of biology with dragons.
3- When a draconequus loses their powers, their bodies adapts their biology to be like the dominant animal, for example, Eris would have a bird biology meanwhile Discord had a dragon biology.
Draconqueous seem to have some good durability would explain how he had no injuries in times he was getting attacked and captured In the series..or the shows rating idk
Edited because: Added more detail
Literally Trixie brokes the consistency, logic and biology laws to harm Discord. Trixie is OP AF. That or Discord actually is a dragon at least in biology.
And if it was hot enough to melt steel or whatever that is, why wasn't it burning Discord, if it's got his magic nullified? Shouldn't there be some serious convection involved there? I don't exactly see dragon scales on that area of his body.
Edited
Well, the answer is issue 96 but hasn't been released yet but for some reason IDW give us a preview of issue 97 because all the Abyssian arc plus the annual will be released in this same month.
And yeah, i cannot understand how works the the magic drain, because if Discord's magic is powerful and very unstable, how is possible there always exist any object that can block that type of magic? And talking about the collars, how the hell Trixie can melt the collar with her magic if those things are magic drainers?
You mean the poor noodle boy that nearly doomed Equestria twice?
If u remember in the whole laughter moss issue he had promised fluttershy to start learning how to do things without magic and he was listening
