I think it was explored a fair amount in the comics. There were a couple arcs that I think were called Reflections and Nightmare Knights that I liked.
True, and frankly I kind of wish MLP would get into the idea of alternate universes a bit more. It could be a great way to bring back older pony gens like what was seen in the most recent G1-G4 crossover comic arc, and it could enable the G4 ponies to crossover into G5 in the future.
If they were alternate universes, I have a feeling that it was a kinda interesting day for all of them, especially since it would never really come up again.
For having time ripped apart, Equestria is in remarkably good shape all things considered. It makes me wonder if those were alternate universes that were affected, similar to the Multiverse that was introduced in the MCU with the likes of Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home. That would certainly explain why nothing was really affected in the main MLP:FiM timeline.

Yeah I can’t technically blame Starlight the writers just didn’t do a good job although I did meet Starlight’s voice actress in person. I got her autograph and a photo with her and she’s pretty cool.
True, though don’t blame that on Starlight, as she isn’t at fault with that. Blame that on the writers for not writing the redemption arc better.
All I’m saying is that Starlights redemption could’ve gone a lot better if it did I probably would’ve forgiven her much easier.
Tell that to Scarlet Witch. She did the exact same thing, and she wasn’t penalized, either.
