I see where you’re coming from, it has some controlling vibes to it. But then again, being controlling is basically a prerequisite even for cartoon villains. So if by weird, you mean villainous, I completely agree. But it’s still well within mainstream viewing.

Completely agree.
I actually prefer this one. The juxtaposition between her happy, jubilant pose, and the reality of the situation, is sublime.
Dash’s set pose is just confident/cocky, which does have something of a similar contrast, but much less so.
