Though my question is what the impostor’s motive is. Does he have a relible way of getting home that doesn’t involve the oxygen of the facility or its electricity?
That’s not a bad strategy, but stacks can also be dangerous for the crew if there’re three or more people in them, since the Impostor could kill someone from within the stack and nobody else would know who did it.
Edited
I hear you, but like @Background Pony #2A90 said I think the idea is to keep the game moving, keep matches short and sweet, and prevent camping and dominant strategy. Like, a tactic I’ve seen people try to do is standing one on top of the other so they look like one player to bait an imposter into killing one of them so the other is a witness and can hit the alarm and call the imposter out. Since the crew has tasks, this isn’t such a good idea since it’s two less people running around doing tasks, and since imposters have sabotages they have a way to undermine the strategy. You can still do it, but it’s not a gamewinner any longer :D
Tasks also put some pressure on the impostor(s), encouraging them to take risks, since they can’t just wait around forever until the perfect moment to strike arises, or else the crew could finish the tasks and win.
Imagine now if Clue had tasks you could do to win instead of finding the culprit. It ruins the entire point of it being a murder mystery game, though I do see how giving the crew a goal can help weed out the imposters more quickly.
From what I can tell, the big key purpose of tasks are to prevent the imposters from playing the long game. Even if the odds of winning by task completion are low, it effectively adds a time limit to the imposters so they can’t just wait out and play it super safe since, if they do, they’ll lose pretty quickly :D
Yeah, voting the Impostors out is the more fun Crew win condition, but Tasks are definitely the safer crew win condition.
I’ve played a few games where the imposters were just that good at covering their tracks that getting the tasks done was the best option to catch them :P
Tasks aren’t essential. You can just do some detective work, decipher who the imposter is and convince the majority to vote on a certain player with you.
Or, more likely, you can point out who is the most likely imposter, get accused of trying to deflect the blame and get voted out yourself, then take a deep, exasperated sigh as the imposters win ’cause nobody believed you.
Trouble is, none of those essential tasks are getting done XD

It’s more or less both :D
You mean the 200th episode?
It could be both
No, it’s a reference to Among Us
