Update: I have a third web browser, Google Chrome, which I haven’t been using for months. It seems that when I opened that up, it did so without closing and reopening as Firefox and Edge had done. Then, when I went back to Firefox and Edge, they opened up without closing and reopening. Apparently, there’s an advantage to having more than two browsers on one computer.

Also, it seems that Internet Explorer is such a good browser that it isn’t recognized by Microsoft anymore.

I don’t know what happened to Edge and Firefox, why, or if anyone else has had this problem. All I know is, when I start them up, at least on my desktop, they always shut down before restarting on their own. Sometimes Firefox, the browser I use the most often, will restart with the page it was on when I shut it down last, sometimes it’ll tell me it can’t find that page. Sometimes, those browsers will restart like pop-unders, and I have to click on the icon to get them foremost again.
