And finally, the last result for this batch of my shipping grid adoptables :) (Smile)
 
I wasn’t given mane directions this time, only that the character be a female alicorn, with a draft horse build. Aside from that, they wanted the characte to be a suprise ^^
 
So I started by making the body this time, as “draft horse” is the one directive I have to go off. So I gace her a larger and more muscular frame, with much feathering on the fetlocks. But when I was deciding on the mane, I had an idea. Twilight is known for being a neat freak with a perfection problem, yeah? I thought it’d be fun if her kid had inhereted that. So I remade the fetlock feathering into what it’d look like if someone had taken scissors and a protractor to them. Like a bowl-cut but for the hooves =P So since that’s the direction I was taking this, I made the mane a bit unoriginal, just a very neat, Twilight-esque cut. I made the tail similar, but aslo decided to add ribbons wrapped around it -both to keep it in place, and because Applejack wears a tail ribbon (albeit a very different one). For the filly-stage, I decided to go with what it’d look like if Twilight and AJ tried to compromise on a style -neat, 90 degree angled bangs and tail, and a braided mane. The filly’s body I made a bit tall and lanky, as she’d be just on the cusp of the growth spurt of the century.
 
The wings and horn, I thought it’d be fun if they were actually average size …which means that they look small, since she’s not really average sized. It looked a bit too silly though, so I made them slightly larger, but still just a bit smaller than if I’d made them to my usual proportions compared to her body.
 
The colors I had a bit of trouble with. I orignally made her a dark wine color, with blue accents and a bright mane. You know I love them brightly colored manes and dark coats. But it either didn’t look, or kept looking more like a LunaxBigMac kid than anything else. So I swapped the colors around, and made the mane a dark purple-blue with wine stripes, and made the body the lighter color. I thought it looked better, so I continued in that direction. The body shifted around with different yellow shades, until I decided to move it around again -Twilight has bright stripes in her mane, so I thought I’d do the same here, and put the yellow there. I actually really liked how that looked, so I tweaked the shades just a bit before settling on it. That still left the body. So I just tried a bunch of different option and picked the one I thought looked best with the mane ^^
 
I then added socks, a blanket and a facial stripe, because I like to give Apple family kids some more natural markings, I think it fits them. I then removed the back socks, because it looked like a bit too much. And then I added freckles, because apparently I can’t decide if the markings are too much or too little. I just really like freckles.
 
Lastly, I made the wings have the same color as the mane, along with the same shine in her adult form. I also tried to add a few yellow feathers, to mimic the stripes in the mane, and I thought it looked really good so I kept it. Makes it a bit more interesting to look at.
 
For the mark, I thought about the one charactestic I’d given her so far, the perfectionism. As well as the fact that she is quite large. And my mind was brought to bonsai trees. From what I’ve heard, to actually keep a bonsai tree healthy and small, you have to be very dedicated and meticulous in its care. So it just seemed perfect for her -trees tie her to the Apple family, while the nature of said tree ties her personality to Twilght. But if her mark is just a bonsai tree, you can’t really tell that it’s not a full sized one. So I also added an apple for scale -from what I can find, if a bonsai tree bears fruit, it’s still sometimes normal-sized. It seems to be an undesirable trait, though? Either way, if it exists, I imagine it looks ridiculous, and is very fitting here ^^ For the colors of the mark, I just used the darker colors of her hair -the other lighter ones just blended into the white. The tree crowns were made a bit sparkly, so they look pretty and aren’t just flat colors.
 
As for the names… “Cosmic Crisp” is something I could see Twilight and AJ name their kid, as it’s an apple cultivar and, you know, space-themed. If you want something more fitting to her talent, then I think something like “Measured Harvest” could work. It rolls nicely of the tongue, is relevant to the cutie mark, and also something I could see Twi and AJ picking ^^

But it’s gonna bother me to have this grid unfinished, so I’m probably gonna open it again sometime. Just can’t promise when ^^;
