Find the suitable sandals? Are we talking about same Applejacks? She would do such sandals by herself! I’m pretty sure, that there is no trouble for her to find a suitable chain and welding machine. And if course she has to wait for the end of this work without the footwear.

And yeah, your idea sounds good too. I can already see Rer obsessively sratching those massive soles as fast as she can. As if she has an immense urge to somehow try to get her own fingers bleedy solely by scratching. Obviously that won’t happen with soft skin under her nails. But the Apul would suffer greatly

Or even better: after being utterly defeated and spent by the tentacle torture pits, the fiend who controls them offers her a deal~ After enduring such mind-breaking perils, she can have the jewel and give it to her beloved Rer, with a nice twist to it. It will make Rarity lose any romantic interest to her, seeing her only as an object to torment and break from now on. She will still crave the apple and give her loads of attention, in a much different way tho. The curse will feed on that circle, getting stronger until one or (most likely) both of them go completely crazy from it. Sounds like a great deal to me 👌
 
Of course she has no real choice anyway and she’ll accept it, not like she would be able to make any rational thought after some weeks of torment in that place. And to be extra mean, the deal doesn’t allow her to leave immediately, just eventually~

Ooh that sounds like something she would dismiss initially as too “frilly” or “girly” butt she would certainly appreciate how open and free they feel after trying them on. And they would add an air of elegance to her bare, worked foots and highlight their rough beauty. I think she would prefer ones with more chains around her foots/ankle instead of ones with jewellery.

Or at some point she manages to get out, actually gets the ring, but plot twist: It’s cursed. When she puts the ring on her finger she can’t get it off anymore and the ring always creates a magical aura that influences everyone around her to feel a desperate need to attack, tie and torture her

Yeah, that’s something apel would do 🍎👌 She thinks she’s tough enough to take on everything on her own and surprise rer with something exceptional. Of course, she fails and regrets it endlessly, wishing she had never stepped foot (lol) in that cursed ruin. A huge serving of agony and suffering for her sexy struggling body~
 
If and when she returns to horseville, rer would eventually find out and make her go through more pedal (and not only) torment, since AJ failed to fetch a jewel worthy of her beauty. And because she finds torturing her friend’s big foots irresistibly hot >:3 Till AJ is completely broken 👌

What a nice story! And there would be funny a plot twist, where the ring appears the teleporter to the dimension, filled with the tickling stuff. So Rarity can try Applejack’s adventures on herself.

I actually thought about a possible story behind that myself. Here‘s what my idea is:
 
So we start with a little shipping idea: Aj wants to propose to Rer, but knowing Rer got access to all kinds of jewelry, so it had tp be something special. Like something ancient barely anyone knows about.  
So she asks Daring Do, cause she‘s the expert in lost treasures.  
AJ gets the hint of an old, remote temple that got such a special ring hidden deep inside.
 
Obviously Apul goes alone on that journey with no one really knowing where she went.
 
To make it short: Apul finds the temple gets inside, falls into several traps that tortures her and by the time she gets to the pic she‘s already quite exhausted and also completely nude due to the several traps before this one.  
And at some point she certainly will fall down.
 
Will Aj get back up? Will she get the ring in the end? Would someone even be able to find her? Who knows.
 
All the know is: AJ has a lot of forced fun!

I think whoever put her there (Rerity most likely) made sure to remove her footwear beforehand. Gotta make sure Apul enters the tentacle pits with her soles properly exposed and vulnerable~
