Not just Blockbuster, but I miss the tiny old indie video stores too.
I remember when I was little, we had one only a 5 minute drive from home, and another one was actually in a local grocery store. It allowed a place to get out and go to with family and friends. To walk down rows and rows of movies, seeing classic movie posters, cardboard cutouts of the newest movie or game.
And there’s something special about holding a video or game in your hand, admiring the detail of the cover art, reading the description on the back, seeing those screenshots, and old logos too.
Now it’s all gone.

While streaming, and Red Box are convenient, I kinda miss dedicated video & video game stores.
It was a li’l more satisfying seeing rows of movies & games like a library, and frankly some things you can’t find on streaming services.

I have good memories of those rental places. Movies, video games, mine had a pizza place next door… everything you needed for a night of fun with friends.

I am human, hear me err.
Where I live we did have a video rental for years, though it wasn’t Blockbusters. Personally, I find the video streaming services lacking. I prefer to buy or download videos nowadays.
