June 20, 2020 - 45 years ago today, “Jaws” opened in theaters across the country and changed the movie industry forever.
Becoming the first movie to reach $100 million in box office rentals, “Jaws” became the first-ever summer blockbuster. In fact, it was the movie for which the term “blockbuster” was coined…the joke was that so many people were lined up around the theater to see the movie their collective weight could bust a city block.
And 45 years later, it has withstood the test of time…it’s still an epic movie.
