That is pretty cringy there..
Yeah I’ve noticed the odd way they’ve set up their thumbnails lately. It reflects the basic way that all those super crappy “kid entertainment” videos on YouTube (the ones that somehow garner tens of millions of views) have their thumbnails set: bright background with some shocked/crazy faces, maybe an object or two to grab attention. A lot of clickbait YouTubers do this too.
