Oh, I can just imagine the backlash that would ensue if Thanos was Loki in disguise and the Black Order replaced him, and it is not pretty. It would be unforgivable if they did that.
 
If they really wanted the diva, the brute and the brat to be the final villains, then instead of teasing the fans with Grogar only to crush their hopes, they should have had Chrysalis realize that she can’t defeat the ponies and Spike by herself, and finds a way to free Tirek and Cozy from Tartarus, eventually leading them to work together. That way, there would be no lying to the fans with Grogar and there would be no character assassination with Discord.

Grogar worried that someone might impersonate him.
 
“It was planned from the beginning. You think we’d let some random guy come in at the last second? We wanted the unholy trio to be the final boss.”  
Me: If you didn’t want Grogar to be the main villain they why did you even bring him back at all?  
“Because the fans wanted him”  
Me: So all of Grogar’s potential wasted and Discord’s character ruined because of us? How is this our fault? You think we’re responsible for this plot twist? When we said we wanted Grogar we meant the real Grogar not some imposter.
 
Next time Hasbro decides to do something like this such as bringing back a G4 villain into G5, they better pick a villain nobody wanted to see. If history repeats itself I pray to God The Storm King is the victim. Make him the villain impersonated.
