That’s a valid complaint. It’s like with Shining Armor and Twilight, only much latter in the series. They knew that they could get away with it with Zephyr since he wasn’t a person people would brag about, so what happened with Scoot’s parents?
True. It’s a nice thing for Scootaloo.
I still wanted Scoot parents to have more realistic, earth to earth jobs though. In the ep it looked like her parents were as great if not more than Rainbow… Anf if Scoots admire them so much, why didn’t she talk about them in the earlier seasons? but that’s just how I view it.
I think you’re reading “lonely” as “orphan,” since Scoot’s parents are away quite often. Seriously, it’s not a bad thing for Scoots to have living parents and want to be part of her hero’s life and family, and it doesn’t “kill” their relationship.
Here another, Scootaloo tried to go to Dash and her parents ’ family, Scootaloo behaved as if she was an orphan and wanted to be part of Dash family.

Her having parents doesn’t negate Scoot and Dash’s relationship at all.
