If they wanted S6 to end up in a happy way without Starlight, they’d have to rewrite that completely.
Twilight and her friends are very lucky Starlight wasn’t beyond redemption.
Really though, if things went remotely the same way, if Starlight were actually of the wholly unrepentant mindset to work with them, I’m not sure how the heroes could win. If she got something along the lines of power boosting along with the other two, unlike Cozy Glow, she is not Unskilled, But Strong, due to Starlight being experienced in casting magic, she’s a good tactician, and it’s not like Chrysalis would be preoccupied having to go after her, either. She wouldn’t even need to be a Fake Alicorn (you didn’t “earn” the power, you lose horn and/or wings when the power is gone) to have the power gains pay off.
(Of course, one would wonder how they won in the S6 finale to begin with without her influence, unless you wrote around that, but I digress)

Equestia in the state of this image is pretty much screwed, half of them are communists by now.
“You can’t please everyone.”
@Myoozik
It’s like even in an alternate timeline, Chrysalis knows she should hate this mare, even if she can’t think of why…
…Also I’d like to point out that Tirek is the superior predecessor to her shtick, because he directly benefited in personal power at his disposal, by equalizing others. For that reason, they’re both redundant, and unequal.

Now don’t get me wrong, I think that trio deserved to be punished to some degree, but I dunno, forever frozen like a statue seems like kinda overkill to me.
But I agree with you that what happened to Sombra is somehow worse, like let his skin peeled off his bones was kinda unnecessarily gross. With the trio, the ponies, say Twilight, can always unpetrified them if she changes her mind. I get a feeling that writers just didn’t know what exactly to do with Sombra. Bring him back just to throw him under the bus 5 minutes laters, geez.
Oh hey, nice picture. Something like that I had in mind. The semi-evil family is trying to get along with each other and at the same time stay out of trouble.
Basically, whether a character is reformed, or not, people will get mad either way.
Meanwhile, nobody cares about what happened to Sombra.

I smell sitcom!

Well, it doesn’t have to necessarily with other ponies. I think he could form a somehow dysfunctional family with Chrysalis and Cozy if given a chance.
That’s actually something I noticed about the complaints about them not being reformed.
“That character to got reformed” even though people complain about them being reformed and whatever happens to two wrongs don’t make a right

I dunno, I just can’t see a character like Tirek suddenly making nice with the ponies, and having tea with them.

Sorry for typo, a career as law ornament, obviously
Well I for one like that Starlight war reformed and at the same time, I wished that villainous trio were reformed or at least got a happier ending than a career as law ornament.
Same, in fact while some are upset about the fate of the villainous trio, at least they didn’t get killed.
And honestly, we can’t expect every villain or antagonist to be reformed, some fans feel the show has already overdone that.
Heck, ironically many who do want the trio reformed actually hate characters like Starlight for being reformed instead.
So even if they got their wish many fans would still hate the finale.
