  1. I didn’t have anything to complain about Twilight when it was revealed that she was an alicorn, but I was confused about these rants, saying “She is a Mary Sue” or other stuff
  2. I actually was a tad disappointed by Iris’s redesign, but more confused in why they didn’t put it in the anime, not even the special where she faces off against Clair
  3. I don’t see any similarities
  4. Iris is really easy to beat, and doesn’t fly or have magic, where Twilight has, and isn’t in any video games as a boss or a mini boss or even an enemy
  5. Pokemon often has character changes, so it’s expected
  6. MLP on the other hand, doesn’t always happen and it’s only so Hasbro can tell children to tell their parents to “buy this rarity doll for sale at 9.99 dollars” or something like that (not sure what the US economy is like, Ireland doesn’t show other world economies much)

Umm, You can’t really complain when Iris came first (1 month before mlp).

In the episode when Twilight was sent to the crystal Kingdom in season three, She probably could have leveled all of ponyville herself without difficulty using the amount of power she had, she could teleport as easily as she walked. in episode one Twilight had to charge up her teleportation spell for half a minute in order to cast it, in the Boast busters episode she could barely handle the magic she was using to move the ursa Minor, in the frist episode of season three Twilight lifted her house in a bout of instantaneous rage barely even thinking about it. I think the transformation to alicorn from unicorn was a fare transfer, as she got more powerful over time.

  1. There was complaining.
  2. It had happened before.
  3. It’s the natural path in the career of a trainer.
  4. Iris isn’t God-mode, you can still beat her, she’s still another trainer by the end of the day.
  5. Pokémon didn’t revolve from the beggining about this character relaintionship with a group of friends, FiM did.

@Posey
I think what the artist is saying during the first games Iris was Drayden’s apprentice and in the sequel she’s not the champion. Similar to how Twilight was just a Unicorn without a title in royalty and then she gains wings and becomes a Princess.

…I think.

Where’s the comparison? Iris becoming champion isn’t comparable to Twilight being an alicorn. It’s completely different
Background Pony #AE7C
I don’t see the resemblance.

First of all, Iris is black. And a human. And young. And good at her job.

way different, Iris went from being the last gym leader to champion a prior documented occurrence, and honestly not too far fetched.

Twilight went from not even being a highest level unicorn (as seen from her inability to preform an age spell) to being overall genetically superior to almost everypony.

@gg666
I don’t think you understand. I am saying people knew it was going to be meh, so they decided to look beyond the mehness and try to enjoy it for what it was. If you don’t think about it too much, Black and White aren’t bad… but only if you don’t think about it too much.

Plus, best-selling doesn’t mean good (looks at halo).

As far as I can see, Black and White were kind of meh and no one really cared because we have been going through the mehness of Pokemon for ages now, we just want some fucking pokemons that aren’t retarded.

Because it’s not really so much the change that’s significantly worrying as is the motive behind it as well as the impact?

That’s what I hear.
Whimsey

@PwnyPony
Exactly. It’s just a cosmetic thing that comes along with her slightly bigger responsibilities. She was already saving Equestria with her friends, so it’s not that big of a change.

what? i don’t remember a single complain about champion Iris, OP is just looking for reasons to keep posting drama crap.
