I’m sure they could, but since I honestly have no idea how to code, I’m inclined to take his word for it. As far as I can tell, only Legends of Equestria has proper game mechanics for authentic pony mobility.
 
So, unless people like bipedal ponies, you’d have to customize the game’s programming or something to get them to look right.

Hmm. Given that Spongebob already has renders from the same generation system the Simpsons are on, I can see why it would be hard with ponies.  
So not even importing Gmod or SFM models would work?

Yeah, he gave me an excuse that he can’t find any renders or that that they wouldn’t be able to function with the game’s mechanics, the latter of which is believable

This is really weird. This game is a GTA clone, and you can steal cars and punch others. Yet this game has a PEGI rating 7+.
