Body/Appearance:
Magna is a little bit shorter than average, but she has a very lean and athletic build. Her wings are average size but are very streamlined, so she excels in speed and agility maneuvers, with moderate stamina (not as much endurance as Kite or Conway.) Her tail feathers are also shaped so that they greatly help her with quick turns. She keeps her mane just short enough so that it stands up and flows dramatically in the breeze with minimal effort.

Personality:
Whatever Magna does, she does it as well as she can. She approaches everyday life with the mindset to conquer whatever problems she encounters. As the daughter of two Wonderbolts, she was practically born competitive and started flying as soon as her wings allowed her to. She seems to have inherited her parents genes and is a natural speed demon.
All was well until she started to enter races… Her competitive nature caused her to get extremely upset with herself if she didn’t do as well as she wanted (even if she won), and it would affect her mood for days. It got really bad and she would get anxiety attacks before races. She actually ran away for a while, but returned after she realized how trivial it was, and it was only as important as she made it out to be. Now that she’s older, she’s still passionate about racing (and nearly everything she puts her mind to), but she’s not so hard on herself and is more forgiving. However, she still doesn’t like the feeling of serious competition because of the stress it caused her as a filly.

Relationships:
Magna had a great relationship with her parents as a foal, as she looked to them for inspiration in everything she did, but as her abilities improved, the pressure from her parents increased. Soarin eventually realized how hard they were being on Magna and tried to get Rainbow to lighten up the “encouragement”, but she got too caught up in making sure Magna was as prepared and strong as possible, so Magna nearly grew to resent her mother and the pressure to live up to her image, which is one of the reasons she ran away. Soarin had tried to talk to Magna and tell her she didn’t have to be so intense, but it was in Magna’s head that she couldn’t mess up at all. Now, Magna has forgiven her parents, but her relationship with her mother is still a little rocky.
Cascade and Magna don’t talk to each other a lot, but they kind of have an unspoken brother-sister bond of companionship. Rainy Rush, however, thinks his older sister is SUPER AMAZING and is probably her biggest fan. Whenever she’s around, he begs her to take him flying or show him more tricks, and she often has to oblige just to get him to be quiet. She would do anything for her younger brothers and is very protective of them.
Magna typically has the most energy out of all her friends, so they can’t always keep up with her. She’s pretty sympathetic and would even do something like beat up another pony if her friends told her it would make them feel better. She and Lionheart have this ongoing friendly rivalry in which they will race, arm wrestle, or usually whatever Magna suggests. Lionheart agrees to do this, as it amuses him, but he usually wins 3/4s of the time. Magna is determined to beat him in more activities eventually, as he is the strongest of their group.
Magna used to hang out with Conway a lot, as she got to know him through the many competitions in which she was entered. At first, they were friendly rivals, but as they got older, Conway got even more of an ego and acted like a jerk more often, so Magna didn’t hang out with him as often because she couldn’t stand his attitude, but they were still (kinda) friends. Conway actually really liked her, and Magna thought he was cute, but his cockiness totally turned her away from him. After she ran away, Conway had no competition, so he decided to join an expedition team to travel to far-off lands. When she returned, Magna thought she would be glad he was gone, but she just felt a strange sadness, especially because she wasn’t able to say goodbye. Deep down, she’s worried she’s never going to see him again.

Talents/Abilities/Cutie Mark:
Magna was actually the last of her friends to get her cutie mark (which appears to be lava flowing in the shape of a heart.) She saw her flying abilities more as part of who she is rather than a talent (similar to how Valerian sees his magic), and eventually grew to hate flying because she felt so much pressure when doing so rather than just enjoying it. She ran away when she was still a filly and stayed with her grandparents for a few weeks, who despite her begging told her parents where she was, but they let her stay as she refused to go home. Magna returned and even though she swore to never forgive Rainbow, she did. Her mother was so sorry, but made Magna promise she would return to flying, and she did. She got her cutie mark, which represents her great capacity for forgiveness, and her passion and ability to succeed in nearly everything she does.
