I’ve never seen that chart before. Very impressive. And yes, I know ships don’t need a reason. It just seemed to me that Spike and Sweetie Belle were shipped together at a far greater rate than average. I thought maybe I had missed something.

Some do it because it’s Spike’s consolation prize for being nice to Rarity. Some do it because they ship Spike with everyone. Some do it because they were vaccinated as children. The second and third ones blur together sometimes.

Ah yes, those nonexistent interactions even when they share an episode, except for the one time where Spike was trying to coerce her into doing something he had been paid to do.

I think it mostly comes from their interactions, namely them dancing together in season 2 and season 7. The comics also like to tease them (Friends Forever #13 is a good one).

Is there a reason everyone decided Spike and Sweetie Belle was a thing? I’m not objecting. They seem to make a great couple. This pic is fun and playful and I like it. But was there something in the show I missed? Or maybe some great fanart or fanfic that got everyone on the Spikebelle ship?
