So I guess it was a hat. Anyway now is a good as time as any to state way I don’t think she is a evil monster.
-She look for for for her people, and put herself behind Enemy Lines instead of having one of her subject play the role of Princess Cadence. I doubt the pony would give them love if they ask nicely, they where freaking out over a zebra
-Protects the hive with a Powerful Chair, which while make the landscape around it arid, stops even Discord’s Magic
-Trader that help the enemy infiltrate the Hive
-Get her Chair broken, usurped, and her Subject get mutated and turned against her (even though they where all for what she was doing a few minutes ago) and the only one to offer her friendship was the one who cause her to lose it all (I Know I would be upset if Someone broke my chair and turns my family against me)
-Even those some of the Changlings did not reform right away no of them go looking for her (got to wonder how she got her hat back)
-Goes a little crazy all alone
-Join a team that only going to be Sacrificial Lambs in the end anyway
-Even though the Rainbow didn’t feel the need to do it, a Firing squad still feels the need to punish her farther
Some may say I am reading to deep into it, but I say “WAKE UP SHEEPLE!”

I don’t think it was a mistake but my point of view on discord’s mind set was:
1: he does care, have concern and feels remorse or regret when it comes to his friends and whatever wrong he did.
2: the problem to me is that since he has not much episodes he did not learn ALL Freindship lessons he might feel empathy for his friends at one point but he still had a lot to learn and the show did not give him a chance to learn the lesson of showing empathy to others when I’d they are your enemies.
3: I think discord tried to be a good friend to twilight but he took it too far and the wrong way, yes he did learn Freindship but he should of learned that sometimes you need to leave your friends alone and let them handle it them self’s or learn them self’s and I think that is what celestial was doing to letting twilight handle problems herself so she can learn from them and also celestial does not know everything of what is going on so eh.
In general, the problem is that he did not learn or did not got a chance to learn these lessons when they could of been good episode ideas, discord had good intentions but they did not work out but he did show regret and felt sorry for what he did but like every pony else he say the villains at face value (evil, horrible creatures who would stop at nothing to get revenge) if he would of saw what we saw and how the villains almost changed maybe things would of been different same with the ponies it’s a truly sad sad ending for them but who knows maybe discord could learn this lesson by now despite the show being over and if chrysalis and the others were to come back and explained what they did to get the bell discord would feel empathy when he hears they almost accepted Freindship
This one is especially bothersome. If, as some had speculated, Discord had intended to reform the Legion of Doom, he probably would’ve been easier to forgive, but using them as cannon fodder for a petty motivational scheme was just cruel. All it shows is that he isn’t capable of extending empathy to those in a similar situation to himself. One might even suggest he never deserved any himself. Really, it’s just one more reason reforming Discord was a mistake from the start.
