One could argue that there’s no need for it to be extremely defensible when it’s very away from most other cities, and taking it for most would be like germany against russia or finland. AKA have fun with the logistics, the time it takes to get up there, and the many traps, not to mention the lack of ways to get there without it turning into Thermopylae (not counting pegasi flying there of course)
 
 
I totally agree with you though. It could use some work. Ask Tiberius about it (the OC) Not my design choice, it’s my characters’s design choice ;P

Very pretty, but the city is not very defensible. The castle can be bypassed, and the lack of forward walls opens up the exposed side to siege fire from the other bank.
 
The citizens have also Helms Deep’d themselves if the defenses fall.
