the next day Hyde woke up from bed and felt a bit strange, he felt taller but he went to the mirror anyways, when he got there he was met with a surprise a face he knew but was not his, he transformed back into Jekyll!  
Jekyll back away fast amazed yet confused on how is this possible, he can still hear Hyde in his head wondering the same thing, Jekyll try to think why but he thought it was impossible but wonders if he transform into Hyde, Hyde also was amazed by this but he too was thinking the same thing but then all of the sudden Jekyll’s stomach started to grumble and he realized that he’s hungry so he and Hyde agreed that they have to find food but try not to be seen so Jekyll took a sheet and covers himself with it and he went out.
 
while out Jekyll thought if he can find an old hat to cover his face in but then he heard a door open and was curious and went to look for it he saw somepony trowing away trash that was not closed very well, apparently he smell leftovers they could of left and even though jekyll (not even Hyde) would do this but Jekyll is desperate so he waited for the stallion to leave and went to look for food, which he did.
 
later when night came his hunger satisfied during the day but was now hungry again he went to look for food through trash or have to take at least one apple he thought if he could transform into Hyde, Hyde in Jekyll’s head wonders if it’s possible but Jekyll said (in his head not out loud) that he could try so he found a dark ally and try to think of the things Hyde would like, he covered his face and focused, when he felt like he was done he looked at his hoof he could barely see it because it became dark but when he went into the moon light he saw the hoof of Edward Hyde, hyde and jekyll in his head were happy and went into the ally and celebrated a little bit but stopped knowing they must not draw attention to themselves so they grabbed the sheet again and hyde covered himself, later on hyde found an old hat in a trash while finding something to eat and covers his head with it.
 
and off both Jekyll and Hyde go, living in an old house and in the streets searching for food, water and in case they need defense they will fight and they both know they will have each other’s backs when ever they need to.
 

 
so a bit of explanation:  
yes Jekyll and Hyde can transform into each other at will now and it does not hurt them.
 
do they have any sort of fun?: yes a little bit maybe they make their own fun or find a random abandon toy to keep both of their minds occupied and they enjoy the simple things in life
 
how do they find food or water?: they find food mostly from trash and if they have the opportunity they have to take food from stands with out being seen but it’s only one mostly, they get water from well now i’m thinking they have to travel a bit to find clean water in a forest but if it rains they will get a bucket and the rain will fill the bucket
 
i’m sure they will figure out a way too keep their basic hygiene but i guess it’s anyone’s guess
