Celestia and Luna were not born Alicorns. They even stated that there had been no natural born Alicorns before Flurry Heart. Flurry Heart is unique. We were never told why she is special. I feel that once all of Equuis (their planet) is in peace and harmony, Flurry Heart will be their princess for all of eternity. She will truly live forever and lead the world in peace and love.

Yeah, but Betty white is at most a decade away from her final rest, when she can be with those she’s lost again. Twilight is immortal, and has a duty to her kingdom that she must fulfill, so she’s not going to see them again for a long time, a very long time

I don’t think it’d be so bad. Think of Betty White: She’s 98 right now, which isn’t exactly millennia, but old enough that anyone older than her and lots of people younger than her that she’s known are long gone. You could have been born when she was an adult, lived a full life, and died from age and she’s still here. So, what’s she do? Cry 24/7 over the people she knew at 20? No, she’s still a comedian, still making people smile like she’s been doing since before World War 2. Darker is not inherently more mature and realistic. While she’ll miss her friends, I kinda wish someone would draw or write Twilight doing… uh… other stuff too sometimes.

It’s okay Twi, just remember that someday you will see them again. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday even immortals like you must die, and when that time comes you will finally be reunited with those you love the most

Remember that Celestia and Luna were born alicorns while Twilight and Cadence were ascended. I think the long lifespan would require to the alicorn to be born that way, anyone ascended would have a standard lifespan.

Hey i’ll cheer you up,nothing indicated that Twilight (or Cadance) for that matter achieved the same kind of immortality like Celestia or Luna seems to have (even for those two maybe they are not eternal, they merely have extremely long livespan,ranging from thousand of years) apparently it’s possible to pass the mantle to a worthy succesor (Luster Dawn),it’s my headcanon that when it’s time Twilight will pass the crown to spent the rest of her life/retirement closer to her friends.Maybe Twilight will be the last to pass away,but i’d rather think she and Celestia are mortal and will eventually join their loved ones
