The song is called “Silver Heels”, this version is played by Nan Bostick and Tom Brier and can be found by searching around for an album called “Dualing At The McCoys” (make sure Google doesn’t autocorrect the word “Dualing” or you won’t find anything). As for the history of it, the earliest recording I can find was recorded on banjo by Fred Van Eps in 1919, but I cannot say for sure if he wrote it or not, the information is scarce.
