You only provoke people to an even bigger discussion. This is not a peaceful resolution to the conflict, it is more like a provocation. It’s better to disperse peacefully, where everyone remains unconvinced.

This could seem like some elitism thinking (“you are not a real fan” kind of deal) and I don’t like that but I still stand by what I said there, as I still think that explains it to some extent.
I’ve seen quite a few very-deeply-attached-to-characters-fans who didn’t like the time skip.
Guess there’s just different kinds of fans and there’s nothing wrong with that either.

Pretty much, yeah. One of the skip’s big problems.
 
I can picture Dashie saying “Seriously? Discord, stop making fanfiction, you suck at it!” I understand where you’re coming from with the “real fan” thing. I don’t like pulling No True Scotsman. But sometimes (though it is very rare) there can be objectivity.

I’m with Dash… I didn’t like any of the future designs much. I also didn’t like that everyone (aside from possibly Rarity and Yona) stayed just where we left them for the next 30 years, with the only changes being who they were in relationships with.

I agree with you that people can’t always be good friends who stay together all the time, and no one lives forever is a natural law. But should they really bring reality into MLP? It’s a fairy world, why should end in this way? Let them “live happily together since then” is more proper to end a fairy tale.

It kinda reminds me a bit of that too. Heck, I don’t even like the CMC’s canon cutie marks myself but I’m not gonna deny that it’s canon.
 
That being said, I think we should keep the comments appropriate to the image to respect the artist and their wishes.

Reading some of the comments below reminds me when some artists refused to draw Twilight with wings after season 3, or the CMC with their cutie marks after Crusaders of the Lost Mark.
