I’ve been playing around with this “What if” idea for a while like.. What if Singe/Cinderplume was FtM Transgender? The more I played with the idea the more I liked it so I doodled a few sketches XD

Cinderplume was the biggest tomboy growing up, playing video games, wrestling and racing any pony who was willing. With the other two cousins just as equally as rambunctious and wild, it wasn’t really out of the ordinary. Kids will be kids after all. But Cinder always felt off. When Bubble suddenly became more girly and Rasta started going to high school, Cinder was expecting to someday just magically feel more like a mare.. but it never happened. Even after puberty and their body started to develop, it felt off and wrong to look in the mirror. What started as a minor irritation only grew more and more to a constant nagging. Baggy hoodies and constant scowls were temporary fixes to a much bigger issue. One that Cinderplume didn’t know how to tackle yet..
One summer right before Cinderplume’s freshman year of highschool, they stayed with their Uncle Whirlwind. Whirl wasn’t the best with kids and was never a paternal type but he could tell that Cinderplume wasn’t happy. After being asked to go shopping or go to salon to have some “girl time” one too many times, Cinder exploded at Whirl and ended dumping all the emotional baggage that they were carrying, confessing how they don’t want to spend “girl time”, let alone be a mare. After sitting down and being a listening ear, Whirl explained to Cinder that what they were feeling was normal and asked what Cinderplume really wanted.

He. He wanted to be a stallion. That Cinder hated how he looks in clothes and how no one seems to understand how he feels. Whirl smiled and declared that maybe it’s time to go shopping and have some quality “Guy time” with his favorite nephew. After finding some better fitting jeans and undergarments, Whirlwind got in contact with some of his old Drag King friends and got Cinder the best chest binder on the market.
After a summer of self discovery, Cinderplume was ready for his first year of high school. He decided to keep the name “Cinderplume” since it felt gender neutral enough, but asked his family and friends to use “He/Him” pronouns.

Of course, it’s already canon that Cinderplume is full male from his ref sheets and storyboard, but I have a few ideas to explain that as well. I hope people like this because it was fun to draw and write up. I feel like it fits Singe really well ^^
