Sketch originally designed by MelSpyRose

This is the other half of that art exchange, or art trade, I did with my friend MelSpyRose. She asked me to redraw that Titan Grogar in my own style (which I still hope she likes, even though she has yet to actually say anything about it when she probably should….respectfully speaking). The Tirek drawing was what she made for me at my request, and the original sketch can be found right here.

It was basically what you see now: a scenario of redux Tirek leading an incredibly large horde of Tiracians into battle. Or on a hunting raid for ponies. Or possibly both, as far as the maniacal centaur is concerned. The smaller, weaker, but still dangerous drones crawling below him are manticore sized, as you can probably tell. Or at least Chimera sized. The much more dangerous soldiers are around Discord’s size, and come up to Tirek’s shoulders. Meaning that, like the Garthim, they are towering monsters who hold size advantage over their equine quarry. At least aside from their other attributes. And at the heart of it all is, of course, Lord Tirek, who I colored myself based on my own design. And I can honestly say that this is probably what he’d look like in the show were he given a design as this.

Or rather, if they wanted to have him go more along the lines of his G1 roots, and make him a far more evil, conniving, and wicked enemy to the world of Friendship is Magic. One who doesn’t gloat over his accomplishments until he knows he’s victorious - or thinks he is, which was only one instance involving the Princesses, before he learned of Twilight. One who is serious, wuick to anger, yet also is a villain who is in control of a situation thanks to careful preparation, planning, and a dominating presence, and nature. Minus the Dark Lord vibes G1 held, it seems G4 Tirek had something in common with his predecessor, at least. Still, though, it would have been a nice step-up to see him become a force of darkness that corrupts all he touches as he drains, and consumes essence without end. He would be a true plague on the land, and a nightmare with those demons at his side. And the Tiracians are a call-back to his Demon Steeds, made from ponies corrupted by the Rainbow of Darkness to drive the Chariot of Midnight, so it’d be an even better reference, and way to make a true finale to the series.

I definitely promise to capitalize on this for my story.
