My parents are both geologists and didn’t spend a lot of time in Ponyville.  
While they were away we spent a lot of time with our Godfather Burnt Umber. He’s an embalmer and I became very interested in this line of work because of his influence. I also spent a lot of time with my aunt Pinkie. She’s a famous party planner, among other things. I always thought the deceased deserved a fun send off so I apprenticed under her for a few summers in my youth.  
I don’t believe death is morbid. It’s a part of the natural order and I want to give the dead the love and respect they deserve while also consoling the families of the deceased.”
