I’m eager to see what an entirely new production team can cook up, considering Hasbro is very aware that G4’s success was due to its high production quality.
 
G4 definitely had some questionable or outright bad writing at times. Let’s see what we can do with a reboot :)

The ending was adequate I guess. It wasn’t super special, but it was sad that it represents the end of the series.
 
As far as G5, I really doubt they’ll be able to recapture what Friendship is Magic was. It was kind of a perfect storm. Great characters, great animation, great music, great acting, but I think what really made it special is that it had an innocence and charm to it without being sickeningly sweet. A lot of cartoons have those other things, but none of them seem to capture that genuine charm that FiM had.

In case anypony is wondering, this is the same line Twilight Sparkle said near the end of Rainbow Rocks.

as soon as i saw the first episode my soul got sealed into a box at hasbro, i’m not jumping off the train anytime soon
 
the ending was interesting, leaves a lot open to interpretation  
probably gonna start working on my next gen/AU while i wait for g5 to drop

i mean… we are getting a season 10 in comic form so technically it’ll be the same Twilight the next time we see her  
unless they decide to flip the roster on its head and make it a prologue to g5, i suppose

Well it’s a nice sentiment, but it’s not quite accurate now is it Twilight!  
Next time you’re not gonna be the same you! Maybe you’d be just as lovely personality wise, but even as dramatic a change as your send off appearance was, it’s even more radically different next time!
