They want to relax and live as non rulers, we have had 2 episodes about their sibling relationship needing work at times. Part of the problem is that they spend 24/7 ruling so they have to put sibling stuff second at times.

Why couldn’t all three of them have ruled?
I mean Alicorn seem to be immortal. Celestia and Luna didn’t age, so why would they want to spend that time in an old folks retirement home where they would see those they probably knew at the last bit of embers of their candle?
 
Cause they don’t want to rule.
 
I know its sounds crazy but ruling over a nation isn’t gasp fun.

I mean Alicorn seem to be immortal. Celestia and Luna didn’t age, so why would they want to spend that time in an old folks retirement home where they would see those they probably knew at the last bit of embers of their candle?
