I think he was referring to the episodes being leaked last month but this image was posted today.
Oh… well, if that’s true, that would be my bad, then. I mistakenly assumed he was referring to the lengthy period where it existed exclusively as a “fanon” concept.
 
Plus this is actually new information for me. I have been painstakingly avoiding any potential source of spoilers ever since other countries stared airing episodes early, and especially after the final few got leaked, so I actually only just learned of this today.

We all knew.
It’s not really something you can know until they actually make it canon. People have hoped and believed and suspected for a long time, and the staff have certainly teased it more than a time or two (while still maintaining some ambiguity), but this is the first time it’s actually been an undeniable fact.

I really don’t see where she gets the impression that it was obvious from.
 
Also it feels kind of misleading that the other part to that, her response to being asked if Sunset being Bi was canon or something fans could leave up to themselves, which sides more with fan interpretation, doesn’t seem to be uploaded here.

I remember how much Discovery Family screwed up on that. Not only did they include a clip of it in a commercial but the commercial starts with that very clip.
 
So even if you had been avoiding the leaks from months before as well as commercials for the show, you could easily end up seeing it.
