Eeyup. I can always rewatch the show (rewatched the pilot on its 9th anniversary), I’m still lagging behind with IDW comics, not to mention fan works, and then I’ve still got music to make that won’t make itself.
Prime shitstorm and death threat material from the personnel working on it alone. I mean, certain people in this fandom would want to see everyone who has ever worked on the MLP comics fired on the spot or, better yet, killed simply because what they made is nothing like seasons 1 and 2.
Who at IDW do you think could satisfy the fandom?
Any artist who isn’t Andy Price? No chance because they don’t draw like Andy Price. Not even Tony Fleecs.
Andy Price? No, he sucks since he didn’t refuse to draw “Reflections” and “Siege of the Crystal Empire”.
Get Sibsy Alberghetti as an artist? No, she sucks because she married MandoPony.
Fan artists? No, Bronies working on official material would inevitably cause the same #HorseFame shitstorms as Mando when he hooked up with Sibsy and helped with one piece of music in the show soundtrack and BlackGryph0n when he collab’d with Michelle Creber for the first time. Any of the writers we had so far? No chance because none of the stories are on par with seasons 1 and 2 when Lauren Faust was still around.
Show writers who were announced to switch from the show to IDW? Okay, just how many of them are good enough to not get death threats?

I dunno. I just remember seeing someone say something that sounded like it. Point is, I want her to stay as a main and supporting character. The Accord arc has problems but I found nothing wrong with how Starlight was used.
The IDW writers shouldn’t be pressured by the Starlight haters to permanently demote her. She deserves to shine just as much as the other main and supporting characters.
The seal for Discord only weakened because one: Celestia and Luna were no longer connected to the Elements (Celestia outright stated that in Discord’s debut), which isn’t a factor with those three, due to the Elements not being used, two, because he was unambiguously conscious while in stone, and three, because he gains power from chaos and disharmony, and is just extremely powerful by default.
All three of those are either completely untrue, or it’s a nonfactor, in the case of consciousness. I don’t think Chrysalis is ever gaining power from love as a statue, especially considering her immortalized expression is that of unbridled hatred.
Discord’s seal weakened on its own after more then a thousand years. And then the last straw was when the CMC argued in front of him. Granted that was because disharmony was his thing, the trigger for this would be different.

If you want to say a new villain shows up and frees them, sure. I’ll sign up, lets give them a redemption story while we’re at it. But spontaneously breaking free on their own? No. Thats just bad fan fiction. Wait a month and then go to Fimfiction, I’ll bet ANYONE here cold hard USA cash that someone will write that story.

Because they are absolutely nothing in comparison to Discord’s power, with Chrysalis being the strongest, and even then, she’s notably weaker than Twilight and probably Starlight without eating a lot of love,
and those two have a reason to fear cockatrices, with the former getting petrified by one.
Tirek is weak in his decrepit form, and Cozy Glow isn’t any stronger than any other pegasus filly.
And unlike Discord, I think you can make a good case that they’re unconscious (which happened to Twilight when she ran into a cockatrice).
A third party would probably have to free them, which plausibly wouldn’t be too easy considering the three that collaborated on petrifying them, and someone trying to take a sledgehammer to the statue would probably happen first.

Well, given the show’s conclusion; we either new villains or IDW reuses “villains” that are so insignificant they don’t even have their own page on the MLP wiki.
