Also the show ending the same way it began doesn’t make sense. Because in the very first episode it was revealed to be a book Twilight was reading. And that same book has been seen again multiple times in the show.
Haven’t seen it sadly. Barely surprising though. Nopony likes that episode.

Agreed. I don’t think Dr Wolf will praise the finale. He hoped for the writers to have the ‘Grogar created Discord’ theory come true.
Still, that doesn’t excuse the bad writing.
Hey it could be worse, they could be dead. Instead they can be freed one day. The IDW comics were announced to continue, so maybe it can happen there? And they can have the real Grogar too.

Ever since I saw the leaks. It left such an emotional scar, I’m too afraid to watch even a reaction to it.
I know exactly how you feel. Ever felt like crying because of what the show has done?
I saw enough of the finale to feel weak. Betrayed. Like my entire journey with these guys was a lie.
Yeah. I try to watch the episode Frenemies to cleanse my eyes. And I don’t think too much about the finale but since it is getting closer and closer by the second, I am utterly petrified. My parents and little sister have tried to convince me it isn’t real but I wish I had the guts to tell them that they are objectively wrong. The conversation went something like this:
Mom: Why are you crying?
Me: Because of the finale.
Dad: It’s okay. I’m sad the show is ending too.
(He’s also a brony.)
Me: It’s not that. The finale’s plot is just so stupid.
Mom: How?
Me: Grogar revealed to be Discord, henchmen take over him, henchmen are turned to stone…
Dad: Grogar is Discord?! That doesn’t make any sense!
Me: I know! What kind of a twist is that?!
Dad: Maybe it isn’t what you think it is. Remember when we thought Nightmare Moon was returning in the Season 4 premiere?
Me: That’s different. That was a good twist.
Sister: Are you sure it’s not a prank?
Me: Very unlikely.
And then I go to school and have a miserable day.
And the thing is, well if it ending my way then I would cry tears of happiness (because of a happy ending) and sadness (because the show is over). But now I can cry tears of nothing but sadness and rage. I know none of this is my fault and there is nothing I can do about it, but I don’t know what my next favourite show is going to be. I know there’s shows like Rick and Morty and Gravity Falls but I find the former disgusting and the latter well, not my cup of tea. I respect your opinion if you like those shows. There’s nothing else in the world quite like MLP and when thinking of them, they are actually quite simple in comparison. I miss my pony friends. And I don’t know what my next villain senpai will be. Yes I’m a villain fangirl. Deal with it.
At this point, the show is just dead to me.

Anyway, Discord is my favourite character and I hate to see him betray me like this. And I feel like the Legion of Doom deserves another chance. Chrysalis and Tirek are awesome. And although I initially hated Cozy Glow as the villain of the Season 8 finale (I’m not a fan of ‘twist villains’ like Dawn Bellwether or Prince Hans), when I watched Season 9 she kinda… grew on me. If you know what I mean. I can’t believe I’m saying this but the finale actually made me cry, especially when the Legion of Doom was petrified. I feel like I must be mentally ill for crying over villains. Anyways, I know it’s just a TV show but it’s hard not to love. And when you love it, it’s hard not to think about it. And when you think about it, it’s hard not to search it up. And after the finale airs on Discovery Family next week… when you search it up it’ll be hard not to get the results from the finale!! See the pattern I’m going with here? Anyway after the finale is aired officially, Derpibooru will be flooded with un-spoilered screen caps and fanart (not to mention more NSFW art), and on the wiki all the characters’ profile pictures will be replaced with their future forms (gah, that epilogue taking place in the future was SO unneeded…) and Grogar’s page will be merged with Discord’s. And to make matters worse, characters from the movie and EG appeared as well! This train wreck that the writers made belongs in the trash can! I mean seriously, who even green-lighted it?! The writers seem to have been high while writing this and all the little girls watching it will just be bawling their eyes out! sigh See what I mean?

No, no, please. I couldn’t have put it better myself. Honestly, these writers don’t seem to realize both kids and adult fans are capable of asking questions and trying to make logical sense of things. Hell, I’m actually scared Dr. Wolf might praise this finale.

Also look at Discord’s page on the Heroes Wikia. Voiced by John de Lancie and by Doc Harris in his Grogar form. I feel bad for Doc Harris because he seems to have wasted his talent on Grogar in the previous episodes. And he had barely any lines in the finale because he’s just Discord! The Legion of Doom being the final antagonists is just absolutely spoiled. They may have deserved their imprisonment in stone, but that’s the writers’ fault! They decided to make them betray Grogar and take over and ruin the finale for everyone. But I felt like their evil is from some sort of cause. For example, Grogar being the father of monsters, it made me feel like he gave Princess Luna and Stygian the dark magic to become Nightmare Moon and the Pony of Shadows respectively. He also bailed out Nightmare Moon from the stars (thanks Brony Notion) and created Discord (thanks DrWolf) and gave him a horrible childhood. I was hoping for any backstory of some kind for Discord. Also, major villains like Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, the Sirens / Dazzlings, the Storm King, Sombra, and Tirek were completely normal people until Grogar decided to corrupt them. That would be a fantastic plot line. And so many people hate my idea because they think ‘it’s too dark’! Grow up people, MLP has loads of dark moments!
_So yeah, sorry about the rant.
And yet, somehow, the fans (both the bronies and, Star Catcher forbid, the kids) still manage to buy it as good writing. It scares me something fierce.

And also, I am sure those writers are nice people in real life. They’re just… how do I put this delicately… not very creative. To be fair, Haber did write some decent episodes such as Castle Mane-ia and Vogel wrote my favourite episode Frenemies_as well as the cute story _Good Night Baby Flurry Heart but they all seem to be dumbing down, and being the same writer of the episode where the villains almost reform as the episode where they get permanently defeated is incredibly stupid IMO.
I once posted something on my Instagram account about my reaction to the finale, and Vincent Tong’s official Instagram account actually put a like on it. That could give a hint…
