Who came up with Sunset’s design then?
And how’s this reality ensues if it’s debating metafiction as opposed to realisticness?
And Katrina, who’s been with the show since Rainbow Rocks when the Sunset x Twilight subtext became apparent, has as much say on what’s canon as Hasbro or other staff and since they don’t contradict it…
 
The ‘reality ensues’ is that it’s not automatically canon just because KH says so on Twitter. Your points are perfectly valid, however. I hope you’ll agree that my little comic (knocked off for my own amusement in about five minutes) does leave room for the possibility that Sunny and Twi ‘really’ are bisexual…

I’d take what Hadley says with a grain of salt. She’s no longer with Equestria Girls (cause no one is :( ) and she is not the creator of the character of Sunset Shimmer. Even Lauren Faust after leaving the position of writer for Friendship is Magic said that none of the concepts she had were canon unless explicitly put into the the show.

Few Week Later
“Nah, I’m just straight. I just realized that yesterday.”
Short Time Later
“Actually, I’m bisexual, now that I think about it. So, yay for me again!”
 
That wasn’t what I was going for… but Death of the Author, I suppose.

The reason it wasn’t, presumably, is that the show-runners don’t agree with KH’s headcanon.
 
I don’t know why you have such a low opinion of this year’s EQG. Some of it was below par, but there was some lovely stuff as well.
