Man, the timing on this part of the episode is perfect. With the group descending into insanity and misunderstandings, bringing back Spike and showing the library still in working condition is a breath of fresh air.

Or maybe that’s just writing the comic arc that’s adding to that feeling. Either way, I welcome it.

DM: WELL THEN. Okay. The inside of the library is miraculously intact compared to the chaotic hellscape outside. The books are stocked on the shelves and the floors are spotlessly clean.
Rainbow Dash: Everything’s normal… except for the talking magic know-it-all-books.
Twilight Sparkle: I’ll take it.
DM: That’s all probably thanks to Spike, who you find taking a nap on the floor with a still-wet mop in his hands. The rapid day-night cycle might’ve been confusing the little dragon’s internal clock.
Applejack: We really never take him anywhere, do we?
Pinkie Pie: He’s basically a civilian.
Fluttershy: Hmmm… A mop? Is there a bucket nearby?
DM: Umm… Yes?
SFX: (SPLASH)
Spike: AAAAAAAAH! W-What did you do THAT for?!
Discord GM: Bwahaha!
Fluttershy: I’m mean now. And you’re generally allowed to be mean and rude as long as you can write it off as being “pragmatic.” We’ve got important things to do.
Spike: I mean, I guess you’re not wrong? Also what?
