I’m more under the impression that Dash is bisexual, and had a little crush on Spitfire and Soarin at one point but grew out of it. She might have been intended to end up with Spitfire as her new mane style resembles Spitfire. No matter what Dashie’s preference is and while I do ship her with my male OC, she’s still my favourite pony.

I ship both Appledash and Soarindash but was haft my headcanon.

No one can ever just be friends. Everything’s got to be a shipping fuel or an LGB push.

I figured that’s the sort of thing that would be brought up, but the Wonderbolts are her childhood heroes. Of course she’s going to get excited at hanging out with them. Doesn’t mean it’s romantic. It’s like Scootaloo’s idol worship of Rainbow.
 
I’m not trying to stir up any arguments. Like I said I’ll take any ship if it’s done well. I was just curious.

I never said there couldn’t be lesbians, look at Lyra and Sweetje Drops! And Scootaloo’s aunts. I’m just saying, at that point in time, Rainbow wasn’t intended to be gay or bi.

Didn’t Faust leave the show after season 2? Why would her statements have any relevance 7 seasons after she quit the show?
 
And I’m drawing a blank right now, but when did Rainbow ever show interest in anyone in a romantic sense? Same with Applejack. Rarity seems to be the only one who actively flirts with others. And there’s Spike with his obvious crush. But aside from them none of them seem to have any romantic interests except Twilight if you want to consider EQG canon.
 
I don’t have an investment in any particular ship. so I don’t care who gets paired with who as long as the art/story is good. There’s tons of Shining/Cadance cheating pics when their love was supposed to be so strong it gave Chrysalis the power of an alicorn, and that’s just one example. In the end canon has never stopped shippers and never will.
 
I haven’t watched the finale myself. I’m still like 3 seasons behind. But I did read a big argument on another image hating on the finale and raging at anyone who thought AppleDash was made canon, so I’m just curious about why they can’t be lesbians, or at least in a relationship.

Scripts aren’t canon, my friend. Scripts go through many revisions and re-interpretations, many of which are not noted.
 
Only the final product counts.

With Lauren Faust. Neither were intended to be gay. Applehack was intended to be extremely traditional while Rainbow was supposed to end up with Soarin’ or another male Wonderbolt. Plus RD has shown more interest in guys than Applejack, so it’s easy to see her as bisexual.

According to interviews, neither are Lesbians. “Pairing them up” only happened because Ashleigh is an AppleDash shipper. If this ship IS canon they are both bisexual not lesbian.

They say the longer a couple is together the more they begin to look and act like one another. Rainbow Dash has Spitfire’s mane style. xd

They were written as a couple in the scripts and also writers wanted to make sure the animators had AJ watch RD with loving pride and keep them both physically close as said in the animatic editor notes

Also add 26 to the mix. Twilight looks like a carbon copy of Celestia. Spike and Rarity didn’t get a love interest and the Evil Triad were not redeemed. You would THINK after 30+ years they would redeem them or give them some kinda explanation for their actions. But nope. They make Diamomd Tiara pre redemption seem like a deep complex character. The only thing we’ve seen is that they’re not all bad and wouldn’t that be enough to redeem them?
