But “Father Knows Beast” practically states that Twilight is Spike’s adoptive mother.
Foolish people: They are related. Don’t ship them.
The easy logic is: They are totally different species and Twilight’s parents actually helped raised Spike, she can’t do it alone for young age. Sure Twilight found him first, and Twilight is basically the first attractive girl Spike met in life, but too young to felt that way at first.

In Equestria, older siblings take on a much bigger role in raising their younger siblings. See Celestia/Luna, Applejack/Apple Bloom, Rarity/Sweetie Belle, and Twilight/Spike here. Twilight may be Spike’s older (adopted) sister, but part of her thinks of herself as his mom.
That… that’s literally the definition of incest.
The former isn’t just likely, they literally stated it in Sparkle’s Seven.
Sure, Twilight’s been the guardian for Spike for the whole show, and he does look up to her, but she was literally a child when he hatched.
