Yeah, I can see what you mean. It’s been a problem since the beginning of time that MLP makes the mane 6 constantly shift when it comes to age, and in relation to Spike. It feels like they’re all written to be ageless, but the show insists in making them have adult lifestyles. Until they want them to be teenage girls that go to high school or act immature. I still feel like Rarity and Spike’s relationship is meant to be a kiddie crush that never blossoms (Even in Equestria Girls Spike has to be turned into a dog to separate him from Rarity, when she’s undoubtedly a teen). But I can understand why would you work around that, and you do have interesting ideas.

Actually, spike activities have always been attending twilight that doesn’t help with a resume.  
the activities of M6 in equestria are that of adult from the beginning but equestriagirls are teenagers.

Was that ever confirmed? ‘Cause the show always made it seem like their age difference was pretty big. Rarity’s had her own business since the beginning of the show, and Spike got his own alteration of puberty in season 8.

Yeah, I’ll admit that I don’t like Sparity for the age difference. Which I’m pretty sure is more than 4 years? But otherwise I think you have good points for the ship. I think Sweetiemash and Caplaeno are okay, they have their appeal too. I’ll admit that I do like how Caplaeno is a more mischievous kind of ship.

It’s true that it’s a cute scenario for both, I admit.
 
on my side the couple sparity is my first best ships from my list.  
So, yeah, I’m glad the show isn’t breaking.  
many people are stuck at their age difference (4 years) or at their images.  
( little pink dragon and ambitious pony fashion fan.)
 
I like the idea that rarity is the most dragon pony we know and vice versa for spike.  
for those who are of development, both have abandoned their dreams of fictitious youth love.  
their relationship has evolved and in the end they act as a couple for several seasons.
 
otherwise for other couples:  
I pence a caplaeno for the malicious duo, they have personalities that fit.  
and the last one is not original but the fans fiction have written a beautiful couple sweetiemash.

Well, I mostly just prefer these ships because I just think they work the best personally. Most Spike ships are with ponies or dragons who are way older or I just think are okay. Even if Spikebelle isn’t mentioned in the series, I think personality wise they can go well together. Sweetie Belle is the closest to being Spike’s type (judging from his crush on Rarity), and I think it’d be interesting for the ship to work around the idea that Spike is just going out with Sweetie Belle because he can’t get the sister. I like to imagine Sweetie Belle comforting Spike when he’s hit with the reality that Rarity can’t love him, and Spike eventually growing to really like her just for being so supportive and for her own traits.
 
And then there’s Rarity and Capper that I absolutely LOVE as a ship and I think they work great. The movie definitely hints at it at times, and even if they won’t become canon, I think they’d be great if they did. I just love the idea of Capper being such a smooth charmer with Rarity and Rarity feeling so happy and flustered for it 💖 They make a great classy couple and I just melt thinking of fluff and flirting between them!

but under what criteria?  
For my part the film is not enough for me this relationship she forward to accept it.  
for the other spikebelle the series also does not mention it.
 
I’m sorry, but I’m trying to understand the logic behind it.  
I respect the show first before my desires.
