Yeah, some think just ‘cause he’s rich, that automatically makes him “evil,” and the EqG “Camp Everfree” movie didn’t help either. (I kinda hate that one for that.) but he’s been shown to get along with the Apple Family, whom help his business, and he genuinely cares about his daughter, and looking back at “Family Appreciation Day,” Tiara genuinely adores & respects him.
 
Maybe the reason Tiara was trying to make AppleBloom ashamed of her Granny was, because none of the other kids, including Bloom respected her Dad, and were falling asleep, and such during his (boring) speech in class. Not excusing her behavior, but kinda makes you wonder if things like that, and the way her family is seen by Ponyville might contribute to her behavior.

Filthy is WAY better than Spoiled

Y’know, I don’t care what some say, I like to think Filthy Rich is one of the nicer “upper-crust” characters in the show, and I like he’s genuinely nicer to Tiara then her Mother is. (Which would kinda explain where Tiara’s hidden nicer side is from.)
