That….makes sense as why greta was mad at gilda…maybe father is Gustavo in season 4 episode 24 you can see gilda with that griffin chef
This comic, which was made in conjuncture with season 7 and includes the retcons the show made to the Dazzlings defeat and “Journal of the Two Sisters”, outright states Star Swirl disappeared before Luna’s banishment.
And your explanation for Sombra is good, though in light of the finale most likely this Sombra was a replica created for this purpose. That still fails to explain why they were surprised by his return as opposed to his return to evil. The schematics you described could work, good job there, but it sounds like magical know how that Rarity, the one claiming he disappeared, wouldn’t know about given her lack of notable magic training. And that raised the question of why lie that it’s Sombra revived if it real Sombra was around to disprove that.
Technically possible. Gilda didn’t mention how old her daughter is. Though, still vague. We’ve only seen an angry reaction, that can mean so many different things.
Wonder how the boyfriend would react to what happened after the episode:
“See, i told you two had to chill out - fighting over me ain’t what it’s all about.”

So Gilda was pregnant in season 5 ….

The fact that we didn’t get one speaks for itself.
Guns don’t exist in Equestria (or anywhere on the planet), as far as we know. But we have seen sharp weapons in the show, spears and even swords, so seeing something more weapon-centric being included in a Friendship is Magic sequel would not come out of nowhere.
Blood is something that would work, too. No exaggerated gore parties, but having a few tasteful blood depictions (wiping off blood from a cut in the face, coughing up a moderate amount of blood as result of internal injury, the iconic blood drops falling to the ground after a battle) would be a nice increase of the mature tone Friendship is Magic already has anyway.
And swearing….. definitely. It would be downright silly to exclude a swear here and there from an episode script. Swears are so common, you’ll hear them everywhere, so as long as it isn’t especially vulgar, it would support the tone of Friendship is Magic, too.
Things like that could get easily included in episodes without shifting the genre of the show to edgy or having to slap an adult age rating onto it.
@XD-385
Reading that comment makes me wonder how you would react if we would get a G4 side series focusing on the Crystal War Timeline that Starlight created (assuming that it still somehow exists somewhere), including war thematics, the associated philosophies, regular battles and depictions of the battlefields, injuries, foal soldiers and all that included.
Since that wouldn’t be edgy, but obviously far darker than Friendship is Magic and also built around the darkness, because it would depict a war scenario.
Edited
We also had a similar scenario in the form of Loonatics Unleashed. The concept just doesn’t mesh with it. A few darker points here and there is fine like in G4, but building the whole thing around it is utterly tone deaf. It’ll be a laughingstock if they go that route. Which I kind of want to see for the lulz.
Ok, just ignore what I said back there, cause I should have remembered that. But I think what I was trying to get at was the edginess of Shadow the Hedgehog. You know, blood, guns, swearing. That’s what I was kind of trying to get at. I just can’t see MLP going in THAT direction
Sorry for being blunt, but that’s stupid. That’s probably what everyone said about the early generations, before G4 existed, and you see what these are. G4 has, unlike these early generations, tons of things that aren’t cute, but instead unapologetically dark. And it works very well. It doesn’t clash with the fact that the inhabitants of this world/kingdom are colorful ponies. The darkness meshes well with them.
An even darker G5 would work, too, especially after Friendship is Magic has set the groundwork for it.
Saying that dark and gritty isn’t possible because the species of the mane characters is ponies, is stupid. G4 has already proven you wrong.
Where do you even take it from that G4 is so “cutsie wootsie”?
Edited
Yea, I doubt Hasbro would EVER allow for that to happen. Pony is to cutsie wootsie to pull shit like that.
I’d actually kind of want to see that, even if just for the sake of the backlash in response of the complete lack of self awareness. Sometimes things are fun because of how ironically bad they are.
Wait, they are upping the age rating for the newest generation? Oh god, don’t go full gritty Shadow The Hedgehog, My Little Pony XD
(FYI, I kind of liked that game XD)

Back at you.
So you’re seeing creative potential as baggage. That’s a view not fit for a creator. I’m glad you won’t be the one who will make the decision what Generation 5 will be.
Edited
“Without inheriting any prior gen’s baggage.”
Pretty sure I posted that.
How can that be best when G4, as the first generation ever, has potential for a sequel? To keep up tradition just for tradition’s sake is not a good idea, at least, not when we talk about art and creative potential.
That’s not how the animated MLP series has ever worked or should work. Best to let each generation be its own thing and start fresh without inheriting any prior gen’s baggage.
What I like most about Gen 5 is that it will have 1 head writer for 2 seasons, meaning that the stories between the episodes and seasons will be more coherent and tie together a bit better than gen 4. I also like the fact that it will have a higher rating, around pg-pg13, meaning more can be freely explored.
The “height” of Generation 4 is a subjective measurement applied by the fandom and the fandom only. And since most don’t even bother to actually understand what they watch, before they let a cascade of petty criticism and hatred rain down on each episode they watch, these days, this has no meaning.
The only fact is that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has tons of unused potential to continue it in new and interesting ways long and for many seasons into the future. And, that it’s a shame this won’t be happening.
But I have hopes that G5 will continue what we know. A reboot would be very risky and I like to think that Hasbro is more clever than that.
Edited
I think that Gen 4 should’ve ended at it’s height, maybe around season 7. Maybe even have the movie be the last thing before rebooting it as gen 5.
Both is bad. Caring about the show and having a realistic view of it is good. Knowing what it is, is good. Understanding an episode is good. Understanding an episode before judging it is even better (from my experience, at least 70% of this fandom watch each new episode only once, then complain about it when they didn’t get it completely because they overlooked something; of course the show is too blame for that then~).
Unfortunately, all of these things are rare in the fandom today. For most members, it seems, all that still counts is their self-centeredness, their ego and their headcanons, not the show, or, G4.

I was mostly referring to how bad Season 9 was. I mean, it seemed slopy to me. Here’s the thing, being critical of the whole show and hating every mistake is bad, yes. But, being a boot licker is bad to.
No, it didn’t. It just has the bad luck of having a fanbase in which many are royally stupid/negative/petty/ect.
The plot of G4 is perfectly okay.
