Reminder that this is the same episode she intentionally trashes Spike’s feelings by lying that “Dragons don’t use pillows”.

Yeah I really don’t care for that episode, just like the previous Spike (and if I can call Sweet and Smoky a Spike episode) it was completely mishandled. But if it were up to me I’d write off the idea of Smolder and Garble, and give Garble a proper redemption arc but he has to earn it.

But I have one good question though, is Sweet and Smoky worst than Father Knows Beast?
TheAmazingPeanuts

Not to mention, he was willing to do something extreme such as smashing unborn phoenix eggs, start a potential genocidal war against all ponies should he had won the Gauntlet of Fire and become Dragon Lord, and at one point attended to throw Spike into his impaling death. So even when the episode states that he’s a big softie, it didn’t him then so why should we believe he isn’t as cruel as he seems?

The episode try to make us sympathize with Garble but he was being just as nasty to Spike as before throughout the episode. It gotten so bad that Spike actually give up on trying to be friends with him. Garble didn’t even apologize to Spike for all the things he done to him and his friends in the past at the end of the episode. Yeah, this episode done a very poor job to make us like Garble.

You make a fair point and everything you said about garble is exactly why I still hate garble even if he is reformed in fact I would never forgive such a heartless creature like him. The fact that he has no remorse’s in murdering an unborn baby makes him the worst dragon in equestria.

I’m getting this idea, that maybe Smolder was sensitive at the time and she didn’t want to be seen in front of any dragons. Maybe that’s why ember chose her. I know Smolder said “the dragons are better than this” I’m thinking she was saying that so she can’t act tough like Garble. As for why Garble never mentioned Smolder. Maybe Garble was sensitive to talk about Smolder the time too.

What if they all don’t know that they’re siblings yet? I like this idea, but I don’t know for sure if It’ll be confirmed. But still, look at their similar color schemes, body structure and feet. Tell me you don’t see it.

I also agree about the whole idea of Garble and Smolder being siblings being a last minute, considering we’ve never heard nor seen Smolder in past seasons, and the fact that she was an entirely new character during the beginning of Season 8. But as I said before it feels a bit more justifiable since Season 9 was the final season, should the show continue this most likely wouldn’t happen at all.

After watch “Sweet and Smoky”? I seriously doubt she related to Spike, which is disappointing.

The idea of Garble being Smolder’s sister is probably the dumbest plot twist the series never did, and it doesn’t make any sense if you think about it. We see Garble since season two, it was never hinted that he have any brothers or sisters and it doesn’t help that we didn’t see Smolder until late in the show. It’s seems like the writers think of this in the last minute.
