I’ve had this character in my head for FOREVER and I’m so glad I finally got to get her down on my computer and into my next gen ^^
 
Cherry Blossom, the only daughter of Big Mac and Sugar Belle, was the product of passion when the two were dating. Before Sugar Belle knew she was pregnant, she and Big Mac drifted apart and thought it was best to see other people. Without proper communication in their relationship, fights were more common than actual conversations. It wasn’t long before Big Mac seemed to move on and began dating Marble Pie. When Sugar Belle started feeling constantly ill, she went to the doctor and found out that she would be having a little foal of her own. Sugar Belle had no interest in having children. After her imprisonment in Starlight’s Village, she believed that she had wasted enough time and only wanted to focus on her career, not a family. She wrote a letter to Big Mac, telling him that she was pregnant and wasn’t interested in being a mother, so the decision was his. He could either take the baby or she would rid herself of the child.
 
Big Mac, always interested in having a family, immediately wrote back telling her that he wanted the baby and would raise it as his own, without her. He worked multiple jobs outside of his farm duties to earn as many bits as he could, wanting to help Sugar Belle as much as possible with hospital bills and whatever else she might need. When the time came for Sugar Belle to give birth, she requested that he stay in the waiting room in the hospital instead of offering her moral support. She had explained everything to the doctors, and they knew that the baby would be leaving with its father. Once the little filly was born, Sugar Belle refused to see her, not wanting to make the situation more complicated than it already was. Big Mac was able to leave the hospital the next few days with his new daughter, making sure Sugar Belle was taken care of first. He might not have cared for her romantically anymore, but she was the father of his child.
 
Big Mac adored his small daughter from the moment he laid eyes on her. She was the center of his universe, and he was determined to be an amazing dad. He would visit Princess Twilight, asking her for books on babies (specifically unicorn foals) to know what to expect and how to properly care for Cherry Blossom. Fortunately, he wasn’t alone. The Mane 6 and the rest of the Apple Family were more than happy to help him look after his daughter, especially when he had work to do.
 
Cherry Blossom grew up to be a self-confident mare, constantly told by her father that she could be whoever she wanted to be. She could be the princess or the knight, there was no limit to what she could do! While she know that not all mares want to be mothers, like Sugar Belle, she wonders why her birth mother didn’t want her. It tends to eat at her on nights where she can’t sleep, wondering if she was ever a burden on her father or if Sugar Belle hated her.
 
Cherry specializes in gardening, able to treat withered or dying plants and turns them into the picture of health. Her skills don’t lie in just one plant, either. She works well with flowers, produce, trees, etc. She loves getting hard to work in the dirt and tending to her work, not caring much about how twigs stick out of her curly mane or having mud on her hooves.
 
Once her father got married to Marble Pie (who adored Cherry from the start), the two decided to expand their little family. When the twins (Golden Anjou and Sweet Bee) were born, Cherry was only 2 or 3 years old. The older she got, the more siblings she had. She was more than happy to help her dad and step-mom with the younger ones, feeding them and putting them down for naps. Once her siblings got older, they began to question why she looked so different from them. But with a colorful aunt like Pinkie Pie, they don’t really question it.

I already adore this character with my entire heart and soul, even if I don’t ship Big Mac and Sugar Belle. I wanted to put a different perspective into the Sugarverse, telling the story of someone who came from a broken/single parent household.
