TECHNICALLY The new Equestria Girls Special is the last for DHX! Not for the franchise! You’ve got to STOP thinking negative! I think positive ALL the time! Besides, Hasbro themselves didn’t say ANYTHING about EG officially ending! It’s just, DHX will no longer be producing EG anymore and it’s possible for Boulder Media to take over, BUT Nick Confalone and K. Hadley will no long be a part of a future Season. There’s been some rumors from Hasbro that their planning for season 3, and it could be possible that they’ll switch it to Boulder media instead of DHX!
It’s ALL up to Hasbro THEMSELVES to figure what to do for EQG! It’s NOT up to me, Not Nick Confalone, Not K. Hadley, not even up to you guys or the rest of the fandom either! HASBRO!!!!
It’s funny but I become Brony thanks to Equestria Girls. Also this movie/specials saga were a guilty pleasure meanwhile I was fearless of admitting that I liked My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. What makes me blue is why EG won’t gonna have the end that deserves (graduation, human Sunset Shimmer and close up portal). C’mon 2 more specials and a third season is too much to want?

I don’t think there’s a problem. I’ve never understood the anti-EQG thing - I suppose because I joined the fandom at a time when it was already established. You say they’re carbon copies, but also that they’re not the same people; but really I don’t think it’s either, let alone both. They’re a parallel universe version of the ponies, the same but different. But rather than the characters themselves, I was talking about how I liked the way EQG was done, with its much tighter focus on the main characters. I felt that I got to be in a more intimate relationship with the EGs than the pones, latterly. For me, Equestria Girls continued to get right what FiM got right for five or six years - that’s why I liked it. If you disagree, that’s fine.
And no, thankfully those early seasons of FiM may be in the past, but they’re not gone.
The problem here is that what you are referring to is that the friendship of those human carbon copies felt fresh and new like the friendship between the Mane Six has felt during early seasons, when it was still new, because those humans didn’t know each other well and had to grow into their friendship first.
But regardless, they aren’t the same. They never were. They might have had the same names and similar looks, save for the different species, but they were still different people. Not the people who you came to adore ever since Season 1 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic premiered.
And if you want to bask in nostalgia of the early friendship between the Mane Six, you can always watch Season 1 and 2, they aren’t going anywhere.
Plus, you’ve seen the friendship between Twilight and her friends grow and shape over the years while they went through crises and hardships together, don’t you think that’s more worth than, I don’t know, essentially ditch them by replacing them with humans who have the same names?
If you love the Mane Six, you have no reason to worry and no reason to mourn. They are always here:

I love EQG more too. The focus on the Mane characters, and the way they handle them, made it more true to the spirit of early FiM for me. I know exactly what all the harsh people out there would say about my feelings, but I will miss those girls, and I would’ve liked them to have stuck around a bit longer.

Ohhhh, put some ice on that burn!
Hi, artist here. Good luck, I sold my soul ages ago.
I appreciate your optimism

The sad thing is, there is no real season 2/series finale(The surprise shocked Nick and the entire team)
Will they give any more closure?

Even though I liked the show all the way through (mostly) the FiM through season 3 is what truly lives in my heart.

I couldn’t remember which to use so I took a gamble lol.
@PoemeMystique
I’m very sad about this. I loved EqG more than regular MLP since EqG 1 came out. I mean, I know everything has to end, but damn it’s so sudden.
Edited because: double post
