An alum is a former student and a dean is a high authority within a school, especially within a college or university (e.g. Dean of Students, Dean of the College of Mathematics, Dean of Faculty, etc.)

I watched it, and I wish they had been more equal as well.
Sunny and Lemon actually only have about two or three lines each. Sour Sweet easily had the most lines, then Sugarcoat, then Indigo, then those two (which I suppose makes sense in the end because neither had any dialogue in any of the teaser videos). Really wish it was more even.
well, if you consider that pony Cadance has only been the ruler of the Crystal Empire for such a short amount of time, maybe human Cadance is the new dean to Crystal Prep.

What thps48 said. He has graduated from the school, and was part of the previous Friendship Games team for Crystal Prep, so he’s got a good reputation there.

You said that Shining is a alum, what in the name of Celestia that means? When I Google I just found some chemisty stuff.
