Yeah, which is why you cant just slap the animated eyes on there and call it a day. A doll designer is working in 3D and cant just make a line for the nose and mouth. And the animation EG faces were very clearly NOT made with a 3D design in mind.

Umm…. I don’t recall animated Sunset Shimmer having full lips or a realistic looking nose. That’s what pushes this into uncanny valley territory.

Why dont the dolls more resemble the show?

Because they’ll end up looking like this. Just remember kids, 2D doesnt always translate well into 3D
