Whenever a Gallus is about to crow, he flaps his wings as he takes a deep breath. He breathes again, and then he makes his signature noise.
That is when the birb is breathing in.
I use it because I like its beautiful letters – and I also use it in some of my made-up languages too.
I have to appreciate your creative use of old Cyrillic. :)
“Flap” has an “ae” sound, so I used ѣ for the “a” in “flap” because in older times that letter had that [æ] sound.
