A certain ‘blessing’ tumbled onto the ground, her eyes shut tight. She raised herself onto her front hooves and looked behind at the source of the pain. Her tail was scrapped and bleeding slightly. Wincing a bit as she tried to move her tail, she sat down to at least gather enough energy to walk back home. She had been trying to practice her gliding and she just managed to slip on a slippery rock and tumble down the mountain. Quietly, she inspected her unfamiliar surroundings curiously.

The full moon lit up the cobblestone walk way and the stars shimmered, going well to the unknown glowing forest. Invested in shimmers, She assumed and let out a sigh. She heard a small rustle which caused her to tense up and look behind her, seeing a dark creature with berry coloured curly hair walking out of a cave. Then he spoke. She tilted her head at the unknown language that sounded like cackling to her as he got close, holding a roll of bandages in his mouth.

Worry not, stranger…

He sat down not far and set the roll of bandages on the ground. He then spoke again, gesturing to the cave then raising his hoof up the mountain with a smile.

This is my home. I heard something fall from above and your sounds of pain caught my attention.

“Uhm…” She started, darting her eyes to the bandages then back at him. He doesn’t seem mischievous and dangerous. Cautiously and hesitantly, she lifted her tail up to him and winced slightly at the stinging sensation. He seems happy and grabbed the roll of bandages with his hooves and got to work. Lowering her face a bit in curiosity as he was chatting with her as if she understands him, her eyes darted to how fluffy his hair looked.

I’m Grommet. We species don’t leave much but I can assure you that we mean no harm, stranger.

His voice was soothing as her wings raised high slowly as she watched his expression. It didn’t change as he continued talking while rolling the bandage around her scars. Raising one wing higher, she hovered it above his head, slightly pressing down onto his hair. He casually pressed his ears down, still chatting nonsense. She hummed a bit, interested at the fact his eyes glowed in the dark as her wing’s shadow devoured his shadow.

… And then, when I went to get food, one of your species almost got me. Now that I think about it, it looked quiet massive and ugly. You look quite delightful in contrast to that beast.

Her eyes dilated a bit as he set her tail down and she brought it to her face to inspect it. It was tied like a bow tie which made her almost smile a bit. She pressed her wings against her body and stood up, keeping her eyes on the creature. He followed the suit and bowed down to her before straightening up.

It was pleasant to meet you, stranger. You can find the town of Nokta if you continue walking up the cobblestone walkway. It’ll get you to the top and I’m guessing you can find your way back.

Her eyes followed his hoof as he pointed at the walkway and up at the mountain again. She nodded a bit, getting in the information before giving him a small smile, “Thank you for your help.” She spoke softly before galloping up the cobblestone. He tilted his head at her words before chuckling, “Why, you’re very welcome, stranger… If only you’d speak, I would’ve known you don’t understand my mother tongue…” He muttered at the end in amusement as he went back to his cave.

Ahh thank you so much for your patience!! This piece was fun to do since I got to experiment with colours, especially on Beatz’s eyes. I’ve used yellowish orange to illuminate the eyes rather than light red. This whole piece was tiring, yes, but I had fun experimenting with colours and backgrounds! SO, I hope you like this one!
