Maybe Discord is right. Maybe he knew this would happen and was looking forward to it.
That it, isn’t it? Twilight gets a taste of power and becomes corrupted. Not like Sci-Twi, who was forced to take all the power at once.
What if this is part of Grogar’s plan all along? He came back when Twilight was gonna be named the next ruler of Equestria. Maybe he plans to recruit her.

I’ve always pictured Fancy Pants as “Lord Mayor of Canterlot”. Not a hereditary Lord like Prince Blueblood, but an elected one. He has that schmoozing politician vibe to him.
This episode was a good reminder of just how much power and influence Fancypants has in Canterlot.
He’s practically the leader of the aristocrat ponies.

Even so,that sound like a stretch.In the context of the episode,in this scene she’s happy because her friends are helping her to delegate power so that hardly something me or anyone else can interpret as malicious intent

That one could be a fake. That premise was Also in a set of fake S9 Synopsises (which featured even a TTG crossover in the mix lol). Aside the fact that back then it was WAY too Soon for the series finale synopsis to be planned (to say, the premise of Shadow Play, the S7 finale, was submitted in late June 2016, according to the leaked scripts, so it’s impossible that the premise of the S9 finale was given in February. Besides, Jim Miller said himself that that premise is a fake). I don’t know why Meghan would keep such a thing in her phone (If that was even the truth, I’ve serious doubts about that) but I wouldn’t listen to that so much…
Midnight Sparkle was too wild and blinded by her desire to magic. And ‘Mean 6’ Twilight was much more expressive and ambitious.
But ‘this’ version of Evil Twilight would be much different. Being the smartest pony ever known, it was like she was being held back all this time. She always had that fear of failure and have stressful outbursts at the slightest flaw. But once in power, her newfound confidence of being a ruler will go to her head. Once she gets the hang of ruling Equestria, all the stress and fear will vanish, making her extremely dangerous. Without those restraints, Twilight would use her magic and knowledge to its full potental. She would be cold, harsh, and calculating; all with a calm demeanor.

Same,that seem weird to me people concoct theory about “Tyrant Sparkle” because she furrowed her brow in that scene.That seem like a big stretch for me,on par with “they stand next to each other,that mean they totally f*ck”
@Background Pony #CD59
It was just a misunderstanding from Twilight. She basically thought that the swannification was something they could have handled easily by themself, and that by letting someone helping them, the princesses would have thought they wouldn’t be capable of ruling eventually. We can’t blame her to think like that, this was basically something they never heard before. They handled the thing good once they understood the whole thing. I think they’re gonna be fine as rulers…. once Twilight figures out how to use that Sun/Moon controlling amulet (if she’s gonna have to use it again once she will be ruler).
Also I don’t see what the big deal is here. She’s just gaining confidence for when she will become ruler eventually. I HIGHLY doubt she will go a “power hungry fool”. It would be the bullshit of the bullshits. I don’t really think writers will pull that one off, especially since the first half went so well so far, and there are other things coming up.
@neo4812
Mmm In all honesty I can’t really see Spike as Walter for two reasons. One he would never betray Twilight (the guy’s much too honorable what with the dragon code that he lives by) and seccond Fancypants also rocks a monacle and speaks with a light British/English accent as well as acts in a gentleman maner.
Of course that’s my veiwpoint, just like how I can see Vector Crocodile as Alexander Anderson (because of the little rivalry between Bronys and Sonic fans just as the Hellsing organisation had its rivalry with the Catholic Church.) Again that’s just my headcannon, I’m not gonna hate on you or anyone that disagrees with me. Also I feel that the two have more similarities than most would think.
I really doubt there is enough time in any finale to make such a thing make any real sense and also deal with Grogar and the other three. The only thing I can think of if something like this is to happen is that Twilight goes evil, gets recruited, and processed to stomp all four other villains, and take control of the situation. Then is defeated and brought back to the side of good by her friends.
The major issue with that is the fact that doing something like that kind of invalidates everything they set up with Grogar. Really having her go evil just immediately invalidates Cozy, Tirek and Chrysalis. They might as well not even exist.
I had to facehoof at this. Literally from the start they said, “we’re the people who organize this,” so how Twi got it into her head that the mane 6 need to do it themselves to be as good as the princesses, I cannot fathom…
@546 Horsepower
That’s quite different from the song that came to my mind for I Want It All :P (Blue Stahli is cool too.)
twilight sparkle
creppy face

Reminds me of Discord’s words about Twilight’s panicking:
“Oh, I’m sure she definitely got this.”
Hopefully it’s the latter, otherwise we’ll chalk this up as flanderization.
He was never rude to Rarity before, especially since she was the first of the Mane Six Fancy Pants spoke to.
Twilight basically held the idiot ball this episode.
Or maybe, he just didn’t like Twilight’s stubborness in doing everything without help.

It IS fake. Jim Miller already said it on Twitter a while ago. Ut was a reply to someone thought. I can’t find it anymore.
Yeah, IIRC, the “leak” was Discord turns Twilight evil… which by this point doesn’t exactly sound right.
It has a good chance of being fake, IMO.

People concoct that theory because it was in the leaks way back for season 8.

yes, the “problem for mane-6” was very forced.
